I told you before we started this course that I didn’t really know what I wanted out of it other than perhaps to find ways to use social media better, smarter.I think what this course has highlighted to me is that I really need to think about what my business is – or what I want it be… Which I thought I knew.

I am a Creating Fame alum, I have been part of the program twice already. The first time around I did the program step by step but did not put my heart into it as much as I should have, I applied some of the suggestions that Laura gives and long behold I started to get fans, followers on twitter, people just asking me questions.. and guess what I had not even started my business “officially” yet.

Since then I have done the program again and guess what happened AGAIN and in an even bigger way: I got my first clients, I got even more followers and fans of my business. There were people approaching me telling me that they “knew of” me. Creating Fame has helped me change my mindset when it comes “Fame” and how accessible it is for ME.

I know that I am going to go through Creating Fame again, because the more I apply Laura’s teachings the more fans, followers, PR opps, clients and money I make.

Creating Fame helped me stop hiding from the world, step waaaay out of my comfort zone, and start living my big idea. I have epilepsy and have spent years of my life hiding in the background. I’ve worked hard helping others to succeed, but I’ve been afraid to let myself be visible. The ideas in Creating Fame really helped me approach things differently and I’ve had happy, positive business growth as a result.

In fact, I even used my “hiding” theme in a fun, 1 minute promotional video and customers absolutely love it.

The Creating Fame has transformed the way I do business. Before joining Creating Fame I had 3 separate web sites and my focus was splintered. With the help of Laura and other Creating Fame members, I was able to brainstorm and figure out exactly where I wanted my business to go.Along the way I held my first two teleseminars, designed my plan for whole year’s worth of high impact content, and made great connections with other Creating Fame members. By the 5th week I had completely overhauled my brand, narrowed my focus and mission down, and my traffic was off the charts. Now running my business is actually fun, I feel like I’m back in control and people are responding in a completely different way. I have had invitations to speak at workshops. I have been invited to speak at conferences in Pittsburgh, Ft. Lauderdale, Dallas, and Scottsdale, AZ among others. I have coauthored an article on Internet marketing for podiatry that will be published in our national journal. I authored another article on internal marketing that will be in a practice management publication. I was also asked to author another article focusing on social media for the national journal. The speaking engagements keep on coming. This is fun!!

Before working with Laura I had a very small audience/local business only. I now have an online audience!

I spent the time I worked with Laura revamping my business and moving it into a whole new direction…which meant investing in an assistant, new technology, etc, and, getting rid of some work I really didn’t want to be doing so I could focus more on what I wanted to do. I have now replaced my old type of business with a whole “new type” of income!

When Laura did my site review during Creating Fame, she pointed out that it wasn’t clear where I was located or exactly what services I provided. Everything was jumbled into one big mess and there wasn’t a clear call to action, either. I realized that I was running two different branches of my business, one offline (my brick and mortar practice in Seattle) and one online – a budding info product business based around health and fitness. Since I needed local prospects to get on the phone and schedule appointments while simultaneously wanting “virtual” prospects (i.e. people around the world) to join my list so I could build a relationship with them long distance, I decided I needed to create two sites. My practice website is simple, straightforward and just describes my services while my main info “hub,” www.sukiebaxter.com, has a lot more content, freebies and more of an info-marketing structure.Since making this switch, I’ve seen a huge increase in leads from local prospects looking for my services in Seattle. I get 1-2 inquiries a week from potential clients and referral partners looking for collaboration. Best of all, the people who call me are PRE-SOLD on my services! I never have to spend time explaining what I do or who I can help. Usually they just ask a few short questions and boom! they want to schedule an appointment. I also had my first successful online product launch this summer! So, I’m seeing growth in both areas of my business where before, I was just stuck running in circles with a lot of confused prospects who weren’t buying anything because they weren’t sure exactly how I could help them.

Additionally, a Physical Therapy grad school student found my website online and used all of my blog content as a resource to write his master’s thesis, which makes me go, “Awww, shucks!” I’m definitely on the path to being a trusted authority in my niche.
